The Government of India launched e-Visa facility for foreign nationals who want to visit India for Tourism, Business or short term medical treatment purpose respectively. Passengers are required to have a valid passport along with a printed copy of the Visa approval letter, emailed to them, before departing from the respective country they are coming from.
Fast Track facility for the same can be availed. For this, one must select "Urgent Processing" option from the dropdown specified in the application. This service can be utilized by paying an additional charge in the instance of urgent or emergency travels. e-Visa application is processed on Fast track basis after payment of the pertinent charges. However, one must ensure that to avail this expedited service, your travel date should be at least after 72 hours from the time your application is submitted. The documents required for Indian e-Visa facility are mentioned below:
For all categories of e-Visas you must have a scanned Bio Page of the passport showing the Photograph and Details. Moreover, you need additional documents for other categories which are mentioned below. All the documents must be in English language as other languages are not accepted for these facilities.
For e-Medical Visa: Copy of Letter from the Hospital concerned in India on its letterhead
For e-Business Visa: Copy of Business Card
It is particularly crucial to understand that once an application has been initiated or submitted then a second application must not be started or submitted against the same passport details. Government of India rejects any and all such subsequent applications owing to redundancy/duplicity. It is strictly directed to complete only one application and not submit more than one application. Any other visa shall not be granted against the same passport number till the time previous visa is still valid even if any details are incorrect in the visa. Once an application is submitted or visa is granted against a passport, it cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded. Applicants are advised to be uttermost careful during the submission of details in the applications and must review before making the payment finally. It is strictly advised not to submit more than one applications at same time and only the same application must be completed that was initiated. e-Visa validity is for 60 days from the date of arrival. It should be availed within its period of validity. If you are travelling for Tourism or Business purpose then it will be valid for two entries and in case of Medical purpose it will be valid for three entries from the date of the first arrival date in India. Maximum of two visits are allowed in a calendar year. The service is valid for entry through 25 designated Airports (i.e. Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh,Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi & Visakhapatnam) and 5 designated seaports (i.e. Mumbai, Chennai, Cochin, Goa and Mangalore). However, the foreign nationals can take exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.
